Reports claiming that Peter Reckell has died have circulated following the recent death of fellow Days of Our Lives actor Robert Kelker-Kelly, but those reports appear to be incorrect. Current reliable information does not confirm Peter Reckell’s death, and there is no verified cause of death or obituary for the actor.
Peter Reckell is best known for originating the role of Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives in 1983. He portrayed the beloved character across several periods over the decades and became one of the most recognizable figures in the history of the long-running daytime drama.
The confusion may have arisen because Robert Kelker-Kelly, who later took over the role of Bo Brady from Reckell, died on October 3, 2026, at the age of 62. Kelker-Kelly’s death was confirmed by authorities, although his official cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
Peter Reckell, meanwhile, continues to be listed in current entertainment-industry sources, and recent coverage has continued to document his work and appearances connected to Days of Our Lives. There is no credible report from his family, representatives, the television industry or a reputable news organization announcing his passing.
For longtime viewers who grew up watching Bo Brady, news of Reckell’s supposed death can understandably cause concern. His portrayal of Bo, particularly his enduring on-screen partnership with Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Williams Brady, made him an important part of the show’s history and earned him a lasting connection with generations of viewers.
At this time, therefore, Peter Reckell’s reported death should not be presented as fact. No confirmed obituary or cause of death is available, and the available evidence indicates that the reports are the result of mistaken identity surrounding Robert Kelker-Kelly’s recent passing. Reckell’s legacy as one of Days of Our Lives‘ most celebrated actors remains intact.
